Strong effort in loss
Floranus generated one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created in Thursday's 2-0 defeat against Cote D'ivoire.
Analysis: Floranus was one of the more active Curacao players on both sides of the pitch, posing a threat going forward while putting in a significant defensive shift against a Cote d'Ivoire side that ultimately proved too strong. He came close to pulling one back with a shot that went just over the crossbar in the second half, highlighting his ability to contribute in both directions. Despite his effort, Curacao fell to a 2-0 defeat that concluded their historic debut World Cup campaign.
Solid defensive work in draw
Floranus had one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Ecuador. He added three tackles, two interceptions, four clearances and two blocked shots as Curacao kept a clean sheet.
Analysis: Floranus went from playing right-back against Germany to operating as a center-back against Ecuador, but either way, he earned most of his value through defensive stats. He helped Curacao earn a clean sheet while posting solid numbers across the board. After back-to-back starts on defense, he should remain in the XI when Curacao take on Ivory Coast on Thursday, June 24, in the group-stage finale.
Limited impact Sunday
Floranus recorded three tackles (two won), three clearances and one interception in Sunday's 7-1 loss versus Germany.
Analysis: Floranus recovered a few balls but failed to stand out in an unfavorable matchup against Florian Wirtz and Nathaniel Brown on the flank. The PEC Zwolle man is in deficient form at both club and international level, with his contributions limited to a few tackles and clearances in recent action. He'll remain in contention with Shurandy Sambo for a starting spot in upcoming fixtures.
