Concedes once against Tunisia
Verbruggen recorded three saves and gave up one goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over Tunisia.
Analysis: Verbruggen batted away a few shots but could do little on a very precise header by Hazem Mastouri that found the bottom corner on a set piece. He has yet to keep a clean sheet through three games, while he has made 11 saves and surrendered four goals. Up next, the Netherlands will face Morocco on Monday in the Round of 32.
Seven saves against Sweden
Verbruggen made seven saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 5-1 win versus Sweden.
Analysis: Verbruggen was the busiest goalkeeper on the pitch in Saturday's 5-1 win over Sweden in Houston, making seven saves across 90 minutes as Sweden generated 16 total attempts and eight on target despite being thoroughly outclassed on the scoreboard, his best stops coming when he denied Viktor Gyokeres from a free kick and then immediately kept out Yasin Ayari's powerful low drive in the same first-half sequence. The Brighton goalkeeper was beaten only by Anthony Elanga's counter-attacking finish when Alexander Isak played him through in the second half, a moment of individual quality rather than any defensive failure. With the Netherlands topping Group F and heading into the knockout rounds as one of the tournament's most complete teams, Verbruggen's ability to produce decisive saves in the moments that matter will be a key factor in how far this Dutch side can go.
