Doubtful moving forward
Hien (strain) was seen on crutches after Thursday's 1-1 draw against Japan, casting serious doubt over his participation in Sweden's round of 32 fixture, according to Nordisk Suede.
Analysis: Hien was forced off in the 37th minute after appearing to overstretch for a ball, suffering what looked like a muscle injury in the thigh or groin area. Though the federation has not provided an official update, the sight of him on crutches points to a setback significant enough that Victor Lindelof could drop back into the defense with Lucas Bergvall earning a starting role if Hien is unable to feature again at the tournament.
Off during first half
Hien was forced off the field in the 37th minute of Thursday's match against Japan due to an apparent muscle injury.
Analysis: Hien would stretch for a ball in the first half, and that would lead to his exit, appearing to stretch his leg too far and suffer a muscle injury in his thigh or groin region. At initial glance, the injury does appear to be somewhat serious and could keep him out the rest of the tournament, as anything in the hamstring or groin injury will take two to three weeks to recover from. Victor Lindelof will likely drop back into the defense while Lucas Bergvall earns a starting spot if Hien is out the rest of the tournament. However, they will hope scans will show something less major and encourage a potential return at the World Cup.
